Research background

Human GHRH has 44 amino acids, but the activity at its receptor resides entirely in the first 29: that finding is what defines Sermorelin and what made it the reference analogue of the group. Everything that came later — Tesamorelin, both CJC-1295 — starts from this same fragment and adds modifications to it to resist degradation.

And there lies its other interesting half. Unmodified, the 1-29 is degraded within minutes by dipeptidyl peptidase IV, which cuts at the N-terminal end. It is a short half-life compared with that of its derivatives, and that is why the literature uses it as a probe for a punctual stimulus of the axis: it allows an isolated pituitary response to be studied rather than a sustained exposure.

It should not be confused with CJC-1295 no-DAC, which the sector also sells as "Mod GRF 1-29": that is this same fragment with four amino acid substitutions, not the original sequence. They share an origin, but not a CAS number or a formula, and in this catalogue they are two separate products.

Reconstitution and handling

  • Work on a clean surface and disinfect the vial stopper with an alcohol wipe before piercing it.
  • Add the bacteriostatic water slowly, letting it run down the inner wall of the vial rather than landing on the powder.
  • Do not shake. Swirl the vial gently until the lyophilized powder has fully dissolved: vigorous agitation degrades the peptide.
  • The solution should come out clear. If it turns cloudy or shows suspended particles, do not use it.

Storage and stability

  • Before reconstitution: refrigerated between 2 and 8 °C, protected from light and moisture.
  • After reconstitution: in the fridge and away from light. In solution the peptide lasts far less than as a powder, so it is best used soon.
  • Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
